What is this? In this systematic review, the authors searched for studies about determinants for vaccination in low- and middle-income countries. The authors searched in May 2015 and restricted their search to publications in English. They included 78 articles.
What was found: The authors found three main determinants of vaccine coverage: intent to vaccinate, which was shaped by attitudes; readiness to vaccinate, which included supplies and human resources; and community access.
Implications: The authors stated that researchers can use these results to develop competing conceptual frameworks, or to analyse data in a theoretically-grounded way.
