WEBINAR: How evidence can improve urban health emergency preparedness

The Pan American Health Organization and Evidence Aid have been working in partnership since June 2021 to produce a collection of evidence summaries to support decision-making related to preparedness, response, and recovery, thereby sustaining and protecting public health gains. As part of this collaboration, this webinar focuses on the important role of available evidence in supporting decision-making during health emergencies in Urban settings and aims to promote the use of Resilient Health Systems evidence collection to support decision-making in this focus area.

This webinar focused on the following concept:

Urban settings are vital for prevention, preparedness, response, and recovery before, during, and after health emergencies.As highlighted in the WHO Framework for strengthening health emergency preparedness in cities and urban settings, evidence is one of the key areas of focus for strengthening health emergency preparedness in cities and urban settings.Available evidence can be used to guide efforts to improve preparedness and health system resilience. It can also help monitor impact and assess the effectiveness of response measures.
